Jefferson County Kindergarten Round Up

On Friday March 22nd the Whitehall School hosted the annual Kindergarten roundup for both Kindergarten and Pre- Kindergarten children who will be joining the school system over the next couple years. It was a great event that allowed parents to connect with school officials as well as receive some useful information on prevention services available to them. This included a packet filled with all sorts of ParentingMT.org resources for them to use in developing healthy interactions and behaviors that will help guide their children through development and into adulthood. It was also a learning experience for the Prevention Specialists, Barb Reiter and Jaret Streib, to become more acquainted with the community. They were able to  connect, hear, and learn from many foster parents, adoptive parents, grandparents and parents on how the resources offered are helpful and some of what they think they need for the future. Some of these parents were also on community councils within the Whitehall area and the PSs look forward to engaging them further for future events and to help spread prevention messages and resources throughout the community. This was a great community event and Barb and Jaret look forward to building upon the connections made and look forward to the possibilities ahead to engage and serve the community.
