- Who inspires you? My daughter, Carmen, inspires me with her unwavering determination, infectious enthusiasm, and boundless capacity for kindness. She reminds me daily of the beauty of inner strength and the power of love.
- Best gift ever given? My two Miniature Schnauzers – Meshach and Amigo
- Your motto: Kindness matters; it’s the right thing to do and can go a long way.
- Favorite sport: I don’t know a lot about sports… I pretend to enjoy football for my husband’s sake.
- Favorite day of the year – I don’t have a particular day. I enjoy warm sunny days and the first snowfall
- I can’t start my day until… I have my coffee.
- Something interesting about you – There really isn’t anything interesting, I am pretty much an average person.
- Pet Peeve – People who are consistently late. It shows lack of respect, disrupts plans and wastes valuable time.
- I’ve never seen… the ancient city of Teotihuacan in Mexico
- Nickname – We won’t go there!
- I really want to learn more about – Ancient civilizations: the mysteries of cultures like the Aztecs or ancient Egyptians.
- Something from your bucket list -Visit Teotihuacan in Mexico
- Guilty pleasure- Wearing my comfy pj’s and binge-watching Betty Davis movies
- I wish I could…make a decent, not perfect, but a decent pie crust.
- What are you really good at – being a grandmother, sewing and quilting
- Dream job—I never really considered a dream job. Prevention work is amazing and has helped me grow in so many different ways. This has been my best job.
- Something you’re most proud of – my kids and grandkids
- Spare time activity – Spending time with the grandkids and quilting
- What do you wish you were better at – maintaining a consistent exercise routine, eating healthily, and taking care of my overall well-being.
- Who have you learned the most from? My kids – Being a single mom and raising my 3 kids was my life’s best and hardest time. I learned empathy, sacrifice, the power of patience, and the joy of seeing my children grow into healthy adults. They also taught me resilience, time management, and the ability to find happiness in the little moments of everyday life. I love being a mom and grandmother.
- If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be? That sounds like a pageant question… I would change people’s hearts by fostering greater kindness and genuine love for one another, encouraging a culture where we truly care for and “love our neighbor.”
