A conversation with Reagan Mecham

Reagan Mecham, DFC Frenchtown

  1. Favorite kind of book: I love all genres of books, but I think my favorites are dystopian fiction and psychological thrillers.
  2. Best gift ever received: My chihuahua, Blackie. My dad got her for me for my 14th birthday.
  3. Your motto: “Decisions determine destiny.” – Thomas S. Monson
  4. Favorite sport: Track & Field, more specifically, throwing events. My brother is a thrower in college and I love watching him compete.
  5. Where did you grow up? I was born in Texas and lived there until I was eight years old before moving to Frenchtown, MT. I’ve been here ever since!
  6. I can’t start my day until… My cat, Macy, is fed. She won’t let me do anything else until she gets breakfast.
  7. Something interesting about you: I changed my major five times in college! I landed in Community Health and Prevention Science after my previous program was cut. I believe everything happens for a reason because community health was exactly where I needed to be.
  8. Pet Peeve: Bad drivers!
  9. I’ve never seen… Princess Bride or Goonies.

  11. I really want to learn more about: Cooking! I’m not the best in the kitchen…
  12. Something from your bucket list: Go on an Alaskan cruise.
  13. Guilty pleasure: Listening to hard rock music.
  14. I wish I could… keep plants alive! I have the opposite of a green thumb.
  15. What are you really good at: Planning and organizing events/projects.
  16. What did you used to be able to do? Sleep without having neck problems – haha!
  17. Dream job: I’m in it right now! I love serving the Frenchtown community and enjoy substance use prevention work.
  18. Something you’re most proud of: Winning the 2023 Dose of Prevention Challenge! We were the first coalition in Montana and the northwestern U.S. to win. I’m still very grateful and humbled that the FCC was chosen.
  19. Spare time activity: Listening to a true crime podcast (Mr. Ballen is my favorite) while doing my nails.
  20. Favorite toy as a child: My stuffed bunny from Build-a-Bear, Rose, that I’ve had since I was five. Other favorites include Barbies, Polly Pockets, and my Nintendo 64 and PS2.
  21. Your least favorite job you’ve ever had: I worked at Bed Bath and Beyond for three hours in college and never went back.
  22. Something no one would believe about you: I LOVE public speaking (but only when I have a presentation prepared).
  23. If you could change one thing in the world, what would it be: To increase everyone’s capacity to love and empathize so we could better serve and understand one another.
  24. What are you learning right now? I am currently getting my Master’s in Public Health and Public Administration. I’m taking two classes this summer, Policy Analysis and Human Resource Management, which have been really interesting!
  25. What could you not live without (besides your family): My pets! I have three cats, four dogs, an aquarium full of guppies, and a pet mouse.
