HELENA IS COMPETING IN A NATIONAL VIDEO CONTEST FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A PLAYGROUND GRANT OF $15,000
Helena’s Playable Playground project has been selected of one of ten finalists nationwide to compete for a $15,000 grant towards the purchase of accessible playground equipment. This will help kids in wheelchairs and with other special needs play in the playground, just like you!!
Last month, a local collaboration of the City Parks and Recreation Department, parents, teachers, and others submitted a video describing their dream playground to the third annual Let’s Play Video Contest, sponsored by the Dr Pepper Snapple Group and the national non-profit KaBOOM! Helena’s video was selected for the on-line voting contest that will determine five winners for the grants!!!
The public will select the five winners by voting on the Let’s Play Facebook page www.facebook.com/letsplay. Voting begins on April 9th and will be open for three weeks, closing at 12:59pm EST on April 26th. The five videos that receive the most votes will win a $15,000 grant. Let’s see if we can get the most votes of any town in the nation!!!
