Youth Volunteers of the Month
Bethany Lindner and Valerie McNeil are sophomores at Helena High School. They are both very active in 4-H, serving as Lewis & Clark County 4-H Ambassadors, as well as teen leaders, camp counselors and volunteers. Not only are they active volunteers in 4-H, but they have also volunteered with the youth programs at church, Fort Harrison and SACC.
Bethany and Valerie have partnered to provide camps for military youth, not only planning the events, but also writing the grant as well. Every summer they spend countless hours as camp counselors at the day camps at Fort Harrison.
They are also very involved with Operation Military Kids. These girls have been involved in almost every Speak Out for Military Kids in the Helena Area. They have presented the poem they wrote, “Deployment Pride” at Girls State, State American Legion Auxiliary Convention, the State 4-H Citizenship Seminar and the GrandStreet Theatre presentation of “The Diary of a Military Kid.”
These two young ladies are available when needed and have spent countless hours supporting Helena area youth. When something needs to be done, they are first to volunteer. Their help and enthusiasm with kids is truly appreciated!
