Grow the Good
Maggie Anderson, DFC Lincoln
Lincoln County kids in grades 8-12 are making better decisions than even when it comes to NOT using alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana, and area youth were inspired to share the news and “grow the good” across the county. In a day-long leadership event with the Montana Institute, students were introduced to the Science of the Positive and Positive Community Norms and spent the afternoon creating messages that promote hope, health, and connection among peers, at school and in their local community. Since the training, students have utilized morning announcements and flyers to spread the news, and have advocated successfully for Troy’s participation in Montana’s Prevention Needs Assessment.
