  1. I just received custody of my 12 year old step son and need something for him to do during the day while his father and I are at work. We don’t have a whole lot of money to spend on camps but would like to know what options are available. TIA!

    1. Marissa,
You could start with the YMCA. They have day camp and have scholarships. Not sure of the age max. Otherwise contact any organizations that your step-son has interests in – soccer, grandstreet, martial arts, etc. and see if they offer scholarships. Kays Kids in the parks has changed their format for summer and have activity packets to send home, but it’s only for kids up to age 11. You could also try montanalearning.org. They have camps at Canyon Ferry. Sorry not to be more help… this COVID is putting a wrench in things.

  2. Does your son have any interest in Boy Scouts? Granted it’s not an everyday thing meeting usually one day a week in evening and activities usually on weekend but it is a great organization and helps young people grow, develops good skills and leadership.
