Brittany Masters Honored

Written by Kelly Hart: When you think about people who inspire others, you may think of people who are selfless, who dare to dream, and who seek to change the status quo. When I think about someone who inspires, I think about Brittany Masters; she has each of those qualities and more.

If you don’t know Brittany, you should know that she thrives on connection and community. She lights up a room and doesn’t take no for an answer. As the CTC Coordinator for Butte Silver Bow, she has elevated events like the Moving Mountains Awards, St. Patrick’s Day Color Run, and the Butte Cares Clothing Drive. She’s worked hard to recruit collaborators and leaders and engages youth at every opportunity. 

If there is a prevention, health, or wellness opportunity presented to Brittany, more likely than not, she’ll get involved, share her wisdom, and make it better than before. She’s always stepping up to support others, both in and out of the prevention field. If you need something, she will be there. She never hesitates to share her knowledge and ideas. In fact, you’ve probably watched a video or bought a book at her recommendation. 

Brittany shines at youth engagement. She connects with youth of all ages and is always looking to provide kids with opportunities, skills, and recognition. Kids are bonded to her, and she is a healthy, positive role model for them. Brittany works hard to provide youth opportunities to share their voice with the community. Not only does she amplify their voice, but she also listens to them, too. After seeing her community’s recent PNA data, she developed Project Seen, an effort to help kids feel seen and valued by their community. She’s been so successful getting youth to volunteer that others reach out to ask what her secret is. I’ll tell you her secret – it’s that she has a heart and passion for youth and helping others. 

Everyone in Butte knows what a gem Brittany is – last fall, she was selected and featured in the Montana Standard as one of the top 40 under 40 and she is an executive member of the Rotary Club of Butte. She is active with Rock the Pit, a project of Rock Top Nation combining music with wellness for kids and is involved with many other local partners. If you want to succeed in Butte, Brittany is your gal.
